NEW ORDER
"SUBSTANCE"
Factory
1987

If you think coolly New Order history is beginning to realize how kind he has been with Bernard Sumner, Peter Hook and Stephen Morris. After the terrible suicide of Ian Curtis and the disappearance of the first trio of Joy Division, the three musicians changed their name to New Order and again revolutionize the music again. While Joy Division revolutionized what could be the punk rock and were one of the most important of the post-punk, New Order changed the perception of people about what a rock band could do. Post-punk and dance music, New Order were and still are considered by rock music and dance music at the same time. With its fusion of drums, synthesizers and electronic sounds, catchy riffs and bass guitars brilliant, New Order are widely regarded as one of the best bands that the UK who have never left.
And then I wonder, where do they fit with the New Order album "Substance"? For a band with a discography so exquisite, "Substance" provides a perfect starting point. It is a compilation of all the issues and popular singles of the band before 1987. "Ceremony" opens the album and was written while they were still in Joy Division, opens with a bass riff incredibly simple but memorable. All the best moments of composition of the band are from here, "Temptation", "Blue Monday", "Bizarre Love Triangle" and "True Faith" are some of the best pop songs ever created without doubt. Interestingly, unlike other existing groups trying to copy a style electronic pop of the 80s, the mistake stale sounding pop, New Order instead actually have not aged a bit, the songs sound that are early 80 or middle, but that's no problem.
The album is lengthened in 24 subjects, and is quite easy to become familiar with it. Although New Order has launched countless compilations with band history, I'd say "Substance" is by far the best compilation ever done for them. They sound all singles of the band from the beginning to the middle of the 1980s. One of the largest collections of one of the biggest bands of the 80s. Please note friends ;)
