THE CHEMICAL BROTHERS
"SURRENDER"
Virgin Records
1999

Whenever I associate this record memories with a friend who had by that year of 1999, a friend from early childhood and grew up listening to the same music with me and for obvious reasons I will not tell because he disappeared from my life. But it is curious that memory ratio in 1999 was not in my head electronic sounds and he came in one day with just bought the album and told me I was going to hear much surprise and my experience was totally new electronic sounds that made me move??. It's an album that would not go into a list of my 10 favorite albums of the decade, but if it is true that I keep a special affection, is one of those albums that inadvertently are a part of you and your past.
After this short introduction more technical staff, I happened to go over this wonderful album that begins with "Music: Response" recalling some of the most representative sounds of Kraftwerk. A brilliant start to a brilliant album. Almost instantly, it sounds "Under The Influence" manages to squeeze what little sanity I can stay. An amazing song but does not last long, "Out Of Control" allows for lost time. With the fantastic voice of Bernard Sumner of New Order, this issue is certainly a highlight of the album. A cutting theme techno and dance that will get a lot of direct match."Orange Wedge" continues at a high level, but I think it is almost the worst song of the album. There are no bad songs, solo songs are less good. Play "The Sunshine Underground" is to be eight minutes and a half of your life hypnotized taking your trip magnetization unfamiliar worlds, you just have to close my eyes and the song does it all for you. Sublime, great, fantastic, wonderful, etc etc etc ...
"Asleep From Today" is a dream velvet voice made melancholy song of my beloved Hope Sandoval, hence the name of the song. If you like Dido or Mazzy Star, you'll love. An excellent introduction to trumpet flute. Know if there is electronic jazz, but there certainly would sound like "Got Glint". It is a collection of guitar riffs and piano along with a flute in the choir. Taking increasingly heavier sounds on the beats. And possibly the best song comes from the album and best known of them, "Hey Boy, Hey Girl". His execution is so elegant and emotional that just by hearing the first one and beats him feel like dancing and jumping but this alone in his room, memorable theme. "Surrender" is the song that bears the name of the album, is an impressive mix of hypnotic magic with many electronic references. I remember this song came out in a popular television commercial. One of my favorites on the album.
The final theme, "Dream On" is another song relaxing and dreamy like Beth Orton making. Although the song is slow, its composition is a mixture of acoustic sound with electronic sound, which makes it excellent. Overall, another great success.
Most people say "Surrender" is overrated, and others is one of the best, but I have not the slightest doubt is the largest disc they have done.

Puntuación *8/10
