Durante los últimos años de los 90's y principios de los 2000, Live, se establecieron como un elemento permanente dentro del rock alternativo, y la radio convencional. Sus duros coros y voces entrañables atrajeron a un público amplio y variado.
Al igual que con muchos de los álbumes de Live, imágenes y referencias religiosas emergen líricamente. Sin embargo, Secret Samadhi proyecta una estética mucho más oscura e introspectiva, que define este álbum desde otras versiones de los primeros álbumes, Lakini’s Juice, sigue siendo una canción, que la banda nunca ha superado. Combinando uno de los tonos de guitarra y riffs más característicos de finales de los 90 con una inquietante exploración lírica del deseo humano, la obsesión y la destrucción, esta canción ejemplifica la tonalidad de Secret Samadhi que pretende lograr.Freaks, es la canción más singular y atractiva del álbum. Un sarcástico beso en la mejilla al cuestionamiento del incesto, la prostitución, el adulterio y la persecución religiosa o no se muy bien, parece ser temas recurrentes en la letra, respaldado musicalmente por un verso de jazz y coros al estilo grunge. Cada vez que escucho esta canción me siento sucio, confuso, sin embargo, llegar a ponerla me hace encenderme. Junto con Lakini’s Juice, Freaks es un punto alto, no sólo para este álbum, sino también en su larga carrera. Además, la hermosa y encantadora Turn My Head, representa momentos sobre que Secret Samadhi habian desaparecido y que Live vuelve a rescatar de versiones anteriores.
Pero el álbum en su conjunto se ve debilitado por la mayoría de los temas de rock a medio tiempo. Graze
y Gas Hed Goes West son canciones agradables con versos que consisten en
guitarras etéreas, lo que nos lleva a unos coros saturados, pero no terminan de ser mas que un mero tramite de buenas canciones y ya está, esta fórmula también se hace en un grado mucho mayor en su primer álbum.
Secret Samadhi es una yuxtaposición de la belleza y el desconcierto. Como un álbum entre la distancia de momentos muy altos y bajos. Las canciones se resaltan y estan perfectamente elaboradas, pero carecen de ese enganche que hacen hacernos despertar de esos momentos que el disco lo necesita. Para
cualquier persona que ha tenido un interés en Live, este disco
es una necesidad, sólo para ver algo que nunca se espera de una banda
que siempre a sido tan poco predecible.

permanent fixture in the alternative rock and mainstream radio. His harsh vocals and endearing voices attracted a wide and varied audience.As with many of the albums Live, religious images and references lyrically emerge. However,
Secret Samadhi projects a much darker aesthetic and introspective, that
defines this album from other versions of the early albums, Lakini's
Juice, remains a song that the band has never exceeded. Combining
one of the guitar tones and riffs more characteristic of the late 90s
with a haunting lyrical exploration of human desire, obsession and
destruction, this song exemplifies the tone intended lograr.Freaks
Secret Samadhi, is the most unique song and sexy album. A
kiss on the cheek sarcastic questioning of incest, prostitution,
adultery and religious persecution or not very well, seems to be
recurring themes in the lyrics, musically backed by a chorus line of
jazz and grunge style. Every time I hear this song I feel dirty, confusing, however, get to put me go on. Along with Lakini's Juice, Freaks is a high point, not only for this album, but also in his long career. In
addition, the beautiful and charming Turn My Head, which is now on
Secret Samadhi Live had disappeared and returned to rescue legacy.But the album as a whole is weakened by most rock songs at halftime. Graze
and Gas Hed Goes West are nice songs with verses consisting ethereal
