A veces uno no se imagina que un hombre como género masculino tenga que estar a veces exento de sentimientos y emocionarse, en cambio a veces puede sentir tanto que el dolor lo hace tan visible como su respiración: al igual que sus dos discos predecesores Eyes Open y A Hundred Million Suns, este disco de Snow Patrol viene cargado con el peso de la confusión emocional de Gary Lightbody. Como se observa en la parte del álbum que dice, "I've crashed to earth, but I've fallen for so long that it was just relief", desde luego, aquí uno ya sospecha que simplemente uno disfruta de su auto-dolor y se revuelca en ello.
La melancolía épica de los acordes del piano que se repiten como un tema sinfónico en "The President", o en la canción de separación dolorosa "New York". "This isn't everything you are", donde el gancho del título es edificante, un cruce entre bandas como Coldplay y The Killers, nos proporciona el momento más conmovedor del álbum. El repiqueteo suave de cuerdas nos ofrece la nobleza de alguien solitario y efusivo, pero sincero, sin duda. El apoyo para superar el duelo interno y sentimental que ofrece en una nueva confirmación de que el consuelo es el tropo dominante del moderno estado de rock actual, más que la alegría o el hedonismo que marcó los primeros pasos de la banda.Sin embargo, Lightbody de ninguna manera está aquí como lo estába antes. Final Straw es el álbum más variado y aventurero de la banda, sin embargo, en este nuevo álbum se aplica de acuerdo la misma formula pero Lightbody está mucho mas melancolico. "I'll Never Let Go" abre con un procedimiento similar al latido reconciliador de "Transmission" de Joy Division, y luego cambia de rumbo, con una voz Gospel que respalda a adquirir un himno que recuerda a "Gimme Shelter", toques improbables e innovadores para de la banda. Y en "Lifening", Lightbody enumera lo que quiere de la vida, ya sea del Norte o del Sur de Irlanda, un telón de fondo de arpegios de guitarra, cuerdas y de madera.
En general Fallen Empires no es un gran paso hacia adelante para Snow Patrol. Siempre se llevarán a cabo la alta estima por los éxitos del pasado a pesar de la opinión general de este álbum. Fallen Empires no llega a cubrir un nuevo camino a su discografia, ya que toma fuerza a partir de una fórmula que se agota poco a poco y que conduce al éxito mainstream. Hasta esa fórmula está completamente ordeñada y exprimida, sin embargo, Fallen Empires sigue siendo una agradable escucha a una adicción saludable en la voz de Gary Lightbody que siempre apetece escuchar hasta llegar al punto de estremecimiento. Snow Patrol deciden seguir con su famosa fórmula de composición pero que ya suena algo repetitiva con el paso de los años, Fallen Empires sin duda será un buen álbum para toda su legión de séquitos que tienen por todo el mundo, pero para el resto lo vemos una insuficiente evolución .
Termino diciendo que es un esfuerzo más enérgico, mas emocional y más melancólico, tal vez eso es lo que significa cuando canta: "We are listening and we're not blind".
Sometimes
you do not realize that a man as male sometimes has to be free and
emocionaes feelings, however sometimes it can feel so much pain as
visible as does your breathing: like its two discs predecessors Eyes
Open and A Hundred Million Suns, Snow Patrol this disc comes loaded with the weight of the emotional turmoil of Gary Lightbody. As
seen on the album that says, "I've crashed to earth, but I've fallen
for so long That it was just relief," of course, here you just one
suspect and enjoy your self-pain and wallows in it.The epic melancholy piano chords that repeat like a symphonic theme in "The President", or the painful breakup song "New York". "This
is not everything you are", where the title is uplifting hook, a cross
between bands like Coldplay and The Killers, provides the most poignant
moment of the album. The soft patter of strings gives us the nobility of someone lonely and effusive, but sincere, no doubt. The
bereavement support to overcome internal and sentimental offering a new
confirmation that comfort is the dominant trope of the modern state of
current rock, but the joy and hedonism that marked the first steps of
the banda.Sin But Lightbody in no way is here as it was before. Final
Straw is the most varied and adventurous album of the band, however, on
this new album are charged on the same formula but Lightbody is much
more melancholy. "I'll
Never Let Go" opens with a procedure similar to reconciling beat
"Transmission" by Joy Division, and then changes course, in a voice
which supports purchase Gospel hymn reminiscent of "Gimme Shelter",
touches unlikely and innovative band. And
in "Lifening" Lightbody lists what he wants from life, either North or
South of Ireland, a backdrop of guitar arpeggios, strings and wood.Fallen Empires Overall not a great step forward for Snow Patrol. Always be held in high esteem by past successes despite the general opinion of this album. Fallen
Empires does not cover new ground to his discography, as it takes
strength from a formula that runs slowly and leads to success
mainstream. Until
that formula is completely milked and squeezed, however, Fallen Empires
still a nice healthy addiction listening to the voice of Gary Lightbody
who always want to listen to the point of shivering. Snow
Patrol to remain with his famous formula of composition but already
sounds somewhat repetitive over the years, Fallen Empires will
definitely be a good album for all his legion of retinues who have
worldwide, but for the rest we see evolution insufficient.I
conclude by saying that it is a more energetic effort, more emotional
and more melancholy, maybe that's what it means when he sings: "We are
listening and we're not blind."
