Nuevo álbum de la banda de Seattle en este 2013, ya van un total de mas
de una veintena a sus espaldas, dando caña desde el lejano ya 1983. En
este nuevo disco la banda de Buzz Osbourne, repasa un total de 13
versiones de artistas favoritos? o simplemente versiones que les
apetecia hacer y se le pasaron por la cabeza y pasárselo en grande con
ellas. Muy distintas unas entre si la verdad, dando especial hincapié en
su estilo único y característico de mezcla de Grunge, Doom,
Sludge,stoner o simplemete Rock experimental. El álbum comienza con una
versión del clásico de Venom "Warhead" que la hacen al mas espuro estilo
Melvins. Le sigue la sorprendente,fresca y versión en lave Pop de
Queen de "You're My Best Friend" de lo mejorcito del álbum la verdad.
"Black Betty" otro clásico, (aquí todas las covers están bien elegidas e
interpretadas) como es el caso de esta, aunque esta un poco sobada la
verdad. Sin embargo con la siguiente cover, esta vez de The Scientists
recuerdan a los Mudhoney mas voluntariosos. Le sigue "Station To
Station" de Bowie, tan en boca estos últimos días por su estupendo nuevo
álbum. Y es también de lo mejor del disco, ya que mezclan Rock
Experimental con las dulces melodías Pop de la original, eso,si sin
perder el toque enloquecedor Sabbathiano Doom que poseen. Sin duda un
gran logro atreverse con esta versión del duque blanco. Mientras que en
canciones como "Attitude" de The Kinks o "Art School" de The Jam sacan a
pasear su vertiente mas Punk, en "Carpe Diem" nos encontramos
Psicodelia a raudales. Para el final del álbum, nos encontramos la
genial versión de Roxy Music en " In Every Dreamhouse Heartache". Podríamos afirmar que este es uno de los mejores discos de versiones
realizados en mucho tiempo. Dios Salve a The Melvins!!!
New album from this Seattle band in 2013, and will total more than twenty behind him, playing hard from as far as 1983. In this new album the band Buzz Osbourne, reviewing a total of 13 versions of favorite artists? versions or just wanted them to do and he went through his head and have a wonderful time with them. Very different truth about each other, with special emphasis on its unique style and distinctive blend of grunge, Doom, Sludge, stoner rock or experimental simplemete. The album begins with a version of the classic Venom "Warhead" that make the most espuro Melvins style. Next comes the amazing, fresh and wash version of Queen of Pop "You're My Best Friend" of the best of the album the truth. "Black Betty" other classic (here all covers are chosen and performed well) as this is the case, although a little kneaded this truth. However with the next cover, this time of The Scientists remind Mudhoney more willing. He continues "Station To Station" of Bowie, as in mouth these last days by his great new album. And it is also the best of the disc, as Experimental Rock mixed with the sweet melodies of the original Pop, that, if without losing touch Sabbathiano Doom possessing maddening. No doubt a great achievement daring with this version of White Duke.
