mejor del álbum y de la banda para mi es la incorporación de Elliott
Williams a la segunda guitarra y teclados, lo cual permite a Tom Smith
tanto en el álbum como en directo de una mayor libertad y concentración
máxima en su estupenda voz y en su carisma que no es poco. Tenemos un
tema sorprendente a medio camino entre los mejores Coldplay y R.E.M
como es el caso de "What Is This Thing Called LovE" cuerda dónde la voz
de Smith nos recuerda ligeramente a la de Michael Stipe . Otros temas a
destacar son la oscura "Sugar" en la cual a mi personalmente la linea
de bajo me recuerda excesivamente a el Army Of Me de Bjork. Sin embargo
el dramatismo de ‘Two Hearted Spider’, el folk americano en clave acústica de ‘The Phone Book’ y la melancolía a medio tiempo de ‘Bird Of Prey’
son unos temas mas que dignos gracias a el buen trabajo de el productor
Jacquire King (Tom Waits, Kings Of Leon, Billy Talent, Norah
Jones...) . En definitiva sin crear nada nuevo que no hallan echo
anteriormente en sus dos primeros álbumes y que se deba a sus deudores
Echo and the bunnymen, u2, Joy divison, o simple minds... hace que sea
un disco entretenido y bastante mejor que su predecesor "In This Light
And On This Evening".
Many had wanted to hear the fourth work of the Birmingham band led by the unmistakable, charismatic Tom Smith, especially after the escape friendly but ultimately leak after Chris Urbanowicz. See that they would be able to do without it, a very important member in the band besides being founder since its inception. Well, the result is much better than I expected and what I speak many who claim to be specialized magazines as well as blogs. Let's face it, Chris had a distinctive sound with his guitar thrilling, it was dirty, with many layers of distortion and powerful riffs but sometimes repetitive and saturated, but it was what we liked and appreciated by the six-string. and this is something that the substitute fails Justin Lockey and are missing only get overflow in just more than a couple of tracks on the disc as the single "A Ton Of Love" which many have described as the "Desire" U2's Rattle And Hum far the new century, and that's something that I do not agree because it has many more influence Echo And The Bunnymen than the Irish themselves U2. In "Formaldelhyde" and "Hyena" if we recognize those above from when I was Urbanowicz Editors.
Best of album and band for me is the addition of Elliott Williams on second guitar and keyboards, which allows Tom Smith both live album greater freedom and maximum concentration in his wonderful voice and his charisma is something. We have an amazing theme halfway between the best Coldplay and REM as is the case of "What Is This Thing Called LovE" rope where Smith's voice slightly reminiscent of Michael Stipe. Other items to note are the dark "Sugar" in which I personally the bass line reminds me too to the Army Of Me by Bjork. However, the drama of 'Two Hearted Spider', the key American folk acoustic 'The Phone Book' and halftime melancholy 'Bird Of Prey' is a more than worthy topics through the good work of the producer Jacquire King (Tom Waits, Kings Of Leon, Billy Talent, Norah Jones ...). Ultimately without creating anything new that are not previously cast in his first two albums and it is due to their debtors Echo and the bunnymen, u2, Joy divison, or simple minds ... disk makes it entertaining and much better than its predecessor, "In This Light And On This Evening".
