Menuda maravilla este disco debut de el proyecto del barcelonés
Gerard Alegre, bajo el nombre de El Último Vecino. Nos hace recordar a
lo mejor de el SynthPop Y la música New Wave de los 80's. Con
reminiscencias oscuras y paisajes melancólicos dignos de bandas
como: Decima Victima, Golpes Bajos o Aviador Dro en la parte nacional y a
The Cure, Smiths, Omd o Human League en la parte Internacional. El
álbum goza de una producción exquisita con unas letras misteriosas y
melancólicas a su vez.
Pasemos a los nueve cortes del álbum, que por
desgracia, para mis oídos pasan volando como una ráfaga de buen juego de
tu equipo favorito. en poco mas de 30 mins, consigue la atención que en
mas de una década no le he prestado a ninguna banda nacional. El primer
corte del álbum es el sublime "Que Mas Da" todo un himno ya en el
underground catalán, con unos teclados maravillosos y unas baterías
machaconas muy en plan New Order. Cuando te quieres dar cuenta ya estas
sumergido en el segundo corte del álbum que es la pegadiza "Otra Vez
Asustado" que a mi personalmente, me recuerda a el viejo lejano primer
Ep de La Dama Se Esconde "Avestruz" Buen Synth-Pop Cañí, jeje.
"Un Sueño Terrible" es su tema mas "Moderno" en el buen
sentido de la palabra, lo cual no es sinónimo de malo, si no que
simplemente suena muy fresco y bastante mas actual que el resto de
composiciones, que son mas clasicistas y vanguardistas, el tema en
concreto posee unos punteados de guitarra y una melodía muy en plan The
Drums. Pasamos a el siguiente " Antes Siempre Esperaba" que tiene un
aire en la melodía a uno de los grupos favoritos de Gerard (Por muy
raro que parezca) El Último De La Fila con unas guitarras oscuras y unos
sintes simplemente exquisitos al paladar. Para finalizar la primera
cara tenemos "Haremos Mas" un corte con un bajo muy New Order y una
melodía repetitiva casi rozando lo obsesivo. (como en casi todo el
disco).
La cara B comienza con quizás el mejor corte de el
disco, la muy OMD "Riscas" para dar paso a quizás el único pero de el
disco con "Los Nuevos Vecinos" un corte un tanto menor comparado con el
resto del disco. Para ir finalizando tenemos otro TEMAZO, SI!! en
mayúsculas como es "Los Ángeles" otro de los favoritos de aquí el que
escribe dicha reseña. Para poner punto final a el recorrido de el disco
tenemos la impresionante "Tu No Estas Asustado" para despedir este
fantástico disco de debut que dará mucha guerra y mucho de que hablar en
los próximos meses y esperemos que en un futuro no muy lejano, yo de
momento ya tengo en mi Top uno de los discos nacionales del año.
What a wonder this debut album the Barcelona Gerard Alegre project , under the name of The Last Neighbor . It reminds us of the best of the SynthPop And New Wave music of the 80 's. Reminiscent
dark and melancholic landscapes worthy of bands like : Tenth Victim ,
or Dro Toyland at the national and The Cure, Smiths , OMD and Human
League at the International . The album boasts an exquisite production with lyrics mysterious and melancholy turn .Let the nine tracks on the album , which unfortunately , to my ears go flying like a gust of good play of your favorite team . in just over 30 mins , get more attention than a decade I have not given to any national band . The
album's first single is the sublime " That Mas Da " an anthem in the
underground and Catalan, with a wonderful keyboard and a very tiresome
batteries New Order plan . When
you realize you 're already immersed in the second cut on the album is
the catchy " Afraid Again " which I personally reminds me of the old Far
First Lady Ep Hides " Ostrich " Good Synth -Pop Cañí , hehe."
A Terrible Dream " is his topic more " modern " in the best sense of
the word, which is not synonymous with bad , but it just sounds really
cool and rather more current than other compositions, which are more
classical and vanguard , the specific issue has a dotted guitar and a melody in the vein of the Drums . We
turn to the next " Before always hoped " that has an air in the melody
to one of the favorite bands of Gerard (However oddly enough ) The
Phantom Of The Opera with dark guitars and a synth simply exquisite to
the palate . To end the first side we have " We Over " a cut with low very New Order and repetitive melody borderline obsessive . ( as in most of the disc).Side
B begins with perhaps the best cut of the album, the highly OMD "
Riscas " to make way but perhaps the only disc with " The New Neighbors "
cut a bit lower compared to the rest of the album . To finish we have another TEMAZO , YES! ! capitalized as " Los Angeles " another favorite here who writes this review. To
put an end to the travel of the disk have the impressive " No One
Afraid " to dismiss this fantastic debut album that will give a lot of
trouble and a lot of talk in the coming months and hopefully in the not
too distant future , I I have at the moment and one of my top albums of the year.
